It was reported from Beichuan, Sichuan Province, that as the first professional engineering mechanical team from other provinces to Sichuan quake-hit areas, Zoomlion rescue team worked at once after its arrival at Beichuan Middle School. It worked around the clock and saved the first little girl only after 3 hours. Until yesterday, it had saved 21 students and teachers from the rubble of the school buildings by using cable cranes.

Li Junhong, manager of Sichuan Branch Company of Zoomlion Beichuan rescue team, always slept in the crane after he came to the quake-hit areas and arranged himself one more day than other team members on duty. He always reminded members that special attention should be paid to sanitation and to everyone¡¯s health so as to work as the representatives of Zoomlion to the last moment!

Although one of his legs was hurt severely during the work, Wei Chengyu, member of Zoomlion rescue team, ignored the ache and infection, and insisted on working at the front line and only with several pieces of bandages covering his wound. In addition, he did the logistic work for other team members and the maintenance of the cranes.

Once news came from Chaping Dam, Beichuan County, that the dam might burst. On hearing this, all the people moved quickly to the higher places while among the stream of people, two, Li Junhong and Zhou Wangqing, staff of Zoomlion, regardless of their safety, ran to the dam to inform their two colleagues who were working there! Later, when asked about his own safety, Li Junhong just said, ¡°We are a family and no one should be left behind!¡±

The 6th day after its arrival on 13 May, Zoomlion rescue team had its first ¡°meal¡± cooked and this delicious meal satisfied all the members and all of them laughed since in the past 6 days all members had to rely on biscuits and water!

At 10 p.m. on 19 May, after finishing the rescue operation with cable cranes, Zoomlion rescue team members did not evacuate from this area but asked to stay there, to await orders and obey the arrangements from the command center. They were not soldiers but as tough as soldiers with iron will.
